Penn State football falls to Northwestern 34-13
The Penn State Nittany Lions fell to a 3-2 season record following a 34-13 loss to the Northwestern Wildcats. This defeat marks the team's second consecutive loss and leaves them winless in Big Ten conference play.
During the game at the new Ryan Field, Penn State's offense struggled significantly, scoring only 13 points. Quarterback Rocco Becht completed 26 of 41 throws for 243 yards, including one touchdown and two interceptions. The defense was also heavily impacted by Northwestern's rushing attack, which gained over 400 yards on the ground.
Under head coach Matt Campbell, the team faces a challenging upcoming schedule. Penn State is set to host No. 19 USC in a White Out game on October 10, followed by a matchup against Michigan. Despite the recent slump, analysts note that the remaining schedule offers opportunities for the program to rebound.
