Nebraska defeats Michigan State 31-13 in Big Ten opener

Nebraska football secured a 31-13 road victory over Michigan State in their Big Ten opener. The win improves the Huskers to 4-0 on the season and marks their first Big Ten conference win since 2019.

Quarterback Anthony Colandrea led the offense with 212 passing yards and two touchdowns, while also contributing 66 rushing yards. Vincent Genatone, a walk-on who had spent the week on the scout team, scored two touchdowns—one a 13-yard reception and the other a 1-yard run.

Nebraska’s defense was a decisive factor, recording six sacks and forcing three turnovers. The Spartans struggled offensively, managing only 257 total yards. The game was also marked by injuries for Michigan State, including star running back Cam Edwards and Jordan Hall, both of whom were carted off the field.
