Northwestern field hockey players named to preseason watchlists

Five Northwestern field hockey student-athletes have been named to the Big Ten Conference and National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) preseason watchlists.

Among those selected for the 2026 Big Ten Players to Watch List are seniors Ashley Sessa and Ilse Tromp, both of whom received offensive and defensive Player of the Year honors last season. They are joined by Olivia Bent-Cole. Additionally, the NFHCA named Olivia Bent-Cole, Juliana Boon, Laura Salamanca, Ashley Sessa, and Ilse Tromp to its 2026 Division I Watchlist.

Northwestern is scheduled to begin its 2026 campaign on August 28 against VCU, followed by a match against Lafayette College on August 30.
