Northwestern to debut $875M stadium for Penn State matchup

Northwestern University is preparing to debut its new $875 million stadium, New Ryan Field, on October 2 when the Wildcats host No. 13 Penn State. To enhance the fan experience, the university announced a $5 menu available via the New Ryan Field App, featuring items such as hot dogs, cheeseburgers, nachos, popcorn, and pretzels. The stadium will also utilize AI checkout technology to reduce wait times and will serve local Chicago staples like Al's Italian Beef and Vienna Beef hot dogs.

On the field, the Wildcats have started the 2026 season with a 2-0 record, securing victories over South Dakota State and Colorado. Senior quarterback Aidan Chiles has earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors following a five-touchdown performance against Colorado. As the team transitions from its temporary home at Martin Stadium to the new facility, upcoming challenges include matchups against Indiana and Ohio State.
