Norwa Plants expands tissue culture production in Ukraine

Polish horticulture company Norwa Plants has expanded its tissue culture production capabilities by opening Vitro Plants in western Ukraine. Located near Lviv, the laboratory has been operational since September 2024.

The expansion aims to address rising greenhouse operating costs in Europe, such as energy, heating, and labor, which have driven some growers to seek cheaper supplies from Asia. By establishing production in Ukraine, Norwa Plants intends to offer European customers increased capacity with the advantages of proximity, shorter shipping times, and easier communication compared to long-distance Asian suppliers.
