Norway addresses pension representation and information strategy

The Norwegian Pensionists' Association (Pensjonistforbundet) is addressing concerns regarding the political representation and influence of elderly citizens. In an event held in Moss, the organization presented findings from a survey involving over 6,000 members via the 'Eldrepanelet' digital panel. The survey explores whether the experiences and perspectives of seniors are adequately represented in political decision-making and public debate.

Simultaneously, the Norwegian government has proposed a new strategy for pension information. Following a broad parliamentary agreement in 2024 to reform the pension system, the Ministry of Labour and Inclusion is seeking feedback on a strategy designed to make pension rights and economic consequences easier to understand. The initiative aims to provide tailored information for different life stages, including how career changes, part-time work, and sick leave affect future benefits, as well as guidance on when to begin drawing pensions.
