Norway and Denmark strengthen maritime trade and logistics

Maritime cooperation between Norway and Denmark is strengthening through increased ship repair services and new logistics routes. Danish shipyards and service providers, including Karstensen Skibsværft, Thyborøn Skibs og Motor, and Entech Marine, are seeing growing demand from Norwegian fishing fleets. This trend is supported by a strengthening Norwegian krone, which has decreased the relative cost of services in Denmark.

In addition to maintenance, Egil Ulvan Rederi has established a regular shipping route connecting Hirtshals to the Norwegian coast via the MV Oddrun With. Operating on a 14-day frequency, the route serves as a vital link for transporting fish feed from Denmark to aquaculture customers in Norway. Through a partnership with North Atlantic Shipping, the service also targets the growing market for temperature-controlled frozen goods. The vessel is equipped to handle diverse cargo, including containers, project loads for the oil industry, and specialized fish feed delivery.
