Norway bus services face disruptions and schedule updates
Public transport services in Norway are undergoing significant changes due to both staffing challenges and seasonal adjustments.
Svipper has reported driver shortages resulting in the cancellation of several morning bus departures on routes 20, 24, 26, 28, 33, 34, and 42. Additionally, roadwork in Sjøgata has caused the temporary closure of the Killengreens gate, Torgsenteret, and Kystens Hus bus stops, which are not expected to resume service until September 1.
Concurrently, AtB is implementing post-summer schedule updates to better align with travel patterns and school starts. These adjustments include increased frequency on several lines, such as additional midday and Saturday departures on the 310 bus between Trondheim and Orkanger, and an extra afternoon departure on line 311 from Stjørdal to Heimdal. Harald Storrønning, Director of Planning at AtB, stated that the goal is to optimize services based on travel data and customer input.
