Norway opens World Cup 2026 with 4-1 victory over Iraq, Haaland scores twice

Norway began its 2026 World Cup campaign by defeating Iraq 4-1 in the opening Group I match at Boston’s Foxborough stadium. Erling Haaland was the standout, netting a double – the first at the 15‑minute mark and again just before halftime – securing the lead for the Scandinavians.
