Norway dominates Roller Ski World Championships in Latvia

Norway achieved significant success at the Roller Ski World Championships in Madona, Latvia, with Ragnhild Aarekol and Emilie Ruud Lia securing multiple gold medals.

Ragnhild Aarekol became the first Norwegian woman to win three gold medals at a Roller Ski World Championship. Her victory came in the final 21 km freestyle mass start, where she pulled ahead of competitors in the final turn before the finish. She finished ahead of Poland’s Magdalena Kobielusz, while Italy’s Maria Eugenia Boccardi took the bronze.

In the junior category, 18-year-old Emilie Ruud Lia won the 15 km freestyle mass start, marking her third gold medal in less than 48 hours. Her previous victories included the team sprint and the super sprint. With this win, Ruud Lia also takes the lead in the overall Roller Ski World Cup standings.

Overall, Norway dominated the championships, earning a total of six gold, four silver, and one bronze medal.
