Norway education debate: PISA withdrawal not the solution
A debate regarding Norway's participation in the PISA international education assessment argues against withdrawing from the study. While some suggest leaving PISA to address declining results in Norwegian schools, proponents argue that the study identifies problems rather than causing them.
Research from other international studies, such as the ICCS which measures democratic knowledge, has also indicated a downward trend in Norwegian education since the mid-2010s. Experts emphasize that while methodological limitations like student motivation and reading skills must be considered, the data provides essential knowledge for understanding the state of the Norwegian school system.
