Norway energy sector focuses on recruitment and regional competence

Energy and industrial companies in Norway are focusing on long-term competence and recruitment to meet future demands.

Øgrey is launching a major recruitment drive to hire at least ten new employees, including five energy technicians and five staff for workshop and mechanical roles. The company reports high activity levels in Farsund and on various projects, such as data center work and industrial assignments. To address the workload and the movement of staff to traveling assignments, Øgrey is looking for talent nationally to encourage relocation to the region.

Equinor is also addressing future competence needs in Northern Norway. To support long-term plans for activity in the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea, the company is organizing an event in Harstad for up to 500 high school students. The initiative aims to inspire the next generation to pursue careers in the region, ensuring a skilled workforce is available as the company continues its operations in the north.
