Norway: Extra grocery chain launches search for kindest customer

The Norwegian grocery chain Extra has launched a nationwide search to identify Norway’s most pleasant customer. Following the chain's 20th anniversary, employees at stores across the country have been tasked with nominating customers who contribute to a positive shopping environment through small gestures, such as being friendly, helpful, or spreading good humor.

In the Driva region, five specific Extra locations—Eidsvåg, Rindal, Sunndalsøra, Surnadal, and Tingvoll—are participating in the search. Store managers noted that the initiative aims to highlight individuals who make the daily work lives of staff and other customers better.

In a separate local event, King Haakon was spotted making a routine grocery trip at a Kiwi store in Rødberg while on holiday in Uvdal. The unexpected appearance of the monarch during his autumn break caused a stir among shoppers, particularly younger customers, as he was seen selecting fruit during his visit.
