Norway football team ships 300 kg of fish and cheese to the US for the World Cup

The Norwegian national football squad is transporting a large stock of native foods to its base in Greensboro, North Carolina, for the 2026 World Cup held across the United States, Canada and Mexico. About 300 kg of fish, 116 kg of cheese and 6,000 oranges were flown in, together with other staples such as chicken, meat, pasta, rice and potatoes, to let the players keep a diet similar to what they eat at home.

Three well‑known Scandinavian chefs – Aaron Espeland, Eirik Tufte and Christian Karlsson – have been hired to prepare daily meals for the team, including striker Erling Haaland, who follows a high‑calorie, meat‑rich regimen. Norway will debut in Group I against Iraq, then face Senegal and France, after recent friendlies that ended 3‑1 over Sweden and 1‑1 with Morocco.
