Norway football team struggles with defensive lapses in Nations League

The Norway national football team is facing a difficult period in the Nations League following three consecutive losses against Portugal and Wales, and a previous defeat to Denmark. The team has struggled defensively, conceding goals in twelve consecutive matches and allowing five goals in each of their last five games.

Norway coach Ståle Solbakken noted that while the team continues to score, the defensive lapses are unsustainable. Player Sander Berge also expressed frustration regarding the quality of goals conceded.

In Denmark, BT sports editor Lasse Vøge criticized the recent Norwegian football euphoria, labeling it as “delusional grandeur” following their World Cup performance. Vøge admitted to feeling a sense of “schadenfreude” regarding Norway's current decline, suggesting that the national pride surrounding the team had become excessive.
