Norway issues weather warnings for high winds and snow
Meteorologists have issued yellow weather warnings across various regions of Norway, signaling significant shifts in weather patterns. In coastal areas including Møre og Romsdal, Trøndelag, and Helgeland, extreme wind gusts of up to 33 meters per second are expected. These conditions may lead to full or strong storms, potentially causing disruptions to air, sea, and land transport, as well as damage to infrastructure and power supplies due to falling trees.
Simultaneously, a yellow warning for snow has been issued for mountainous regions in Southern Norway. Approximately five centimeters of snow is expected within a 24-hour period in higher elevations, with the snow line projected between 1,100 and 1,300 meters. The combination of snow and wind is expected to create difficult driving conditions. Authorities, including the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, advise travelers to use appropriate winter tires and prepare for sudden changes in road conditions during the autumn holiday period.
