Norway: Multiple traffic accidents and rescue operations reported
Various incidents involving traffic accidents and emergency rescues were reported across Norway. In Tromsø, a vehicle engine failure caused long queues on the Sandnessund Bridge, while a puncture in the Tromsøysund Tunnel led to temporary lane closures. In Bamble, a driver in his 50s had his license temporarily confiscated after crashing into a lamppost; police suspected driving under the influence.
In Seljord, two separate incidents occurred: a car veered off the road near Skorigrendi, and a collision involving two cars on the E134 was attributed to a failure to yield the right of way.
Rescue operations were also conducted for hikers. In Balsfjord, two English tourists were airlifted from Blåtind after getting lost. On Gaustatoppen, a group of six hikers, including two small children, were rescued by emergency services after becoming disoriented due to poor weather conditions. All rescued individuals were reported to be in stable condition.
