Norway proposes 378 billion NOK for old-age pensions in 2027 budget
The Norwegian government's proposed 2027 national budget allocates 378 billion NOK to old-age pensions, representing an increase of 26 billion NOK from the previous year. This growth is attributed to an increasing number of retirees and standard pension regulations.
Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg noted that pensions have grown more than inflation, resulting in increased purchasing power for retirees despite recent price increases. However, officials acknowledged that many minimum-pension recipients still face financial difficulties, necessitating continued efforts toward pension fairness.
