Norway reports car‑truck crash on Ørskogfjellet and fatal tractor overturn in Hemnes

On Tuesday at 15:37, police reported a traffic accident near Fjellstua on Ørskogfjellet where a car and a truck collided while exiting onto the E39. No personal injuries were recorded. Emergency services attended the scene, traffic was directed through one lane and the road was briefly closed while the vehicles were cleared.

A separate incident occurred Saturday night on county road 7350 in Hemnes municipality. A tractor overturned and a man in his late 30s was trapped under a rear implement and later died. Five people were on the tractor at the time. Police are investigating the sequence of events, including possible alcohol involvement; blood samples have been taken from three participants, who now have suspect status. Technical examinations of the tractor and its driver’s cabin are ongoing.
