Norway sees cooler, wetter week as heat wave ends

Meteorologists say the recent heat wave across southern and eastern Norway has ended. The upcoming week will bring more typical late‑summer conditions, with cooler temperatures and increased rain.

On the west coast (Vestlandet) and in Trøndelag, forecasts call for widespread precipitation and highs around 15 °C, occasionally dropping below that. The east and the far north (Østlandet and Øst‑Finnmark) are expected to stay above 20 °C, with the latter region seeing the warmest weather. Southern Norway (Sørlandet) may enjoy some sunshine and mild temperatures.

While large parts of Europe are experiencing a new heat wave with temperatures reaching 40‑45 °C, Norway’s outlook remains moderate, with only occasional warm spells in the north.
