Norway sovereign wealth fund sees profit growth from Israeli holdings
Norway’s sovereign wealth fund, managed by Norges Bank, has seen increased profits from its remaining investments in Israeli companies despite recent ethical divestments. Last year, the fund reduced its Israeli holdings from 61 to 29 companies, citing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Although the fund has made no new investments in Israeli firms, returns from its existing holdings reached $2.4 billion in the first half of 2026, representing a 15.7 percent increase since the end of 2025. One notable holding is the drone-camera company NextVision Stabilized Systems, which saw its value rise to $25.9 million from $21 million in 2025.
Advocacy groups have raised concerns regarding these investments. Rami Samandar, head of Norway’s Palestine Committee, stated that the fund is failing to comply with international law obligations by contributing to the maintenance of the occupation and oppression of the Palestinian people.
