Norway strengthens economic ties with Spain through industrial mission

Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry Cecilie Myrseth led a delegation of Norwegian companies to Spain to strengthen economic ties and explore new market opportunities. The delegation, organized by Innovasjon Norge, included representatives from the space, defense, and technology sectors.

In the Castilla-La Mancha region, discussions focused on strategic cooperation in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and the use of digital technology for forest fire prevention and extinction. Mercedes Gómez, the regional Minister for Sustainable Development, met with the Norwegian delegation to discuss technological synergies that could aid environmental resilience and the energy transition.

During the visit, Myrseth also toured a Hydro aluminum recycling plant in Azuqueca de Henares. The mission aimed to bolster Norwegian exports and investments within European value chains, particularly in sectors such as seafood, energy, raw materials, and critical minerals.
