Norway to release Oslo Accords documents found in diplomats' storage
The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced plans to release documents related to the Oslo Accords that were discovered in the basement storage of diplomats Mona Juul and Terje Rød-Larsen. The materials, which include documents stamped ‘strictly confidential’ or ‘secret’, are currently being reviewed at the National Archives to prepare them for public access by researchers and journalists.
Juul and Rød-Larsen were central figures in the 1990s Oslo peace process between Israel and the Palestinians. The release of these documents follows an investigation by Økokrim, which has charged Juul with gross corruption and Rød-Larsen with complicity in corruption. Both individuals deny the allegations.
The investigation is linked to broader inquiries following the release of the Epstein files, which revealed frequent contact between Rød-Larsen and the convicted billionaire. Additionally, the Norwegian Parliament is conducting a hearing regarding potential unhealthy networks and culture within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
