Norway train strike averted after Vy wage agreement
A planned train strike in Eastern Norway has been averted after negotiations between the transport company Vy and the Norwegian Railway Union (Norsk Jernbaneforbund) resulted in an agreement on the annual wage settlement. The union reported that the deal successfully addressed key demands regarding the protection of members' leisure time.
However, the dispute is not entirely resolved. Mediation between Vy and the Norwegian Locomotive Drivers' Union (Norsk Lokomotivførerforbund) has been paused and is scheduled to resume on September 17. This leaves the possibility of future industrial action for locomotive drivers.
Additionally, Vy experienced technical difficulties with its mobile application and website on Wednesday morning. The company attributed the service disruption to a backend system update implemented by Bane Nor.
