Norway unveils Viking-themed World Cup photo and new white kit for 2026 tournament

Norway’s men’s national football team released a Viking‑inspired squad photograph ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The image, shot by British photographer David Yarrow on a private beach outside Oslo, features the 26‑player roster – including Erling Haaland and Martin Ødegaard – in Viking armour, shields and longships, meant to symbolize unity and resilience as Norway returns to the World Cup after a 28‑year gap.

At the same time, the Norwegian Football Federation introduced a third, completely white, away kit for the 2026 tournament. Manufactured by Nike, the kit mirrors the away uniform in reversed colours, displaying silver logos on a white background. FIFA encourages teams to have a third kit to avoid colour clashes, and the new jersey will be available from June 2026 as the squad prepares for its group‑stage matches in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
