Norway wealth fund reveals $1.2 billion stake in SpaceX
Norway’s $2.3 trillion sovereign wealth fund, the world’s largest, disclosed for the first time that it holds a 0.05% stake in SpaceX. As of June 30, the investment was valued at approximately $1.22 billion (12.15 billion NOK).
The fund’s ownership in SpaceX represents a 0.01% voting interest. While the stake is significant in value, it remains modest compared to the fund's other major technology holdings. For comparison, the fund holds stakes worth $62 billion in Nvidia, $52 billion in Apple, $50 billion in Alphabet, $35 billion in Microsoft, and $34 billion in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing.
The fund, which invests revenues from Norwegian oil and gas production, manages holdings in approximately 7,100 companies globally. SpaceX shares have experienced significant volatility following their June IPO, with valuations fluctuating amid questions regarding company governance and high revenue multiples.
