Norway's Viking‑themed World Cup 2026 photo shoot goes viral

The Norwegian Football Federation unveiled an official team photograph for the 2026 World Cup that portrays the players as Viking warriors amid a fjord near Oslo. The shoot, staged by renowned photographer David Yarrow, features swords, shields and traditional garb, with striker Erling Haaland posting the image on Instagram captioned “Viking blood”. The striking visual quickly spread across social media and international media outlets.

Norway qualified for the tournament for the first time in 28 years after beating Italy in the European qualifiers. The team will compete in Group I in the United States against Iraq, Senegal and France, marking its fourth World Cup appearance overall.
