Norwegian airline criticised over flight cancellations and insufficient meal vouchers

Summer flight disruptions at Norwegian airports have left passengers facing long delays, cancellations and high food prices. The Consumer Council advises travellers to request reasonable reimbursement for meals and accommodation when flights are delayed for two hours or more, noting that vouchers ranging from 100 to 150 NOK often do not cover costs at airport restaurants.

In a separate case, a passenger travelling from Oslo to Alta missed a specialist appointment after the flight was cancelled due to bad weather. She was left without hotel accommodation and received only a 160 NOK bus voucher, while her claim for 15,240 NOK in compensation for the missed appointment and additional expenses was rejected by the airline and partially dismissed by the aviation complaint board.
