Norwegian Crown Prince's Son Marius Borg Høi Sentenced to Four Years for Rape

Marius Borg Høi, the 29‑year‑old son of Crown Princess Mette‑Marit, was sentenced by the Oslo District Court to four years in prison after being found guilty of two rape offenses and a series of related crimes. The court, hearing the case via video link, rejected the defense’s request for a reduced term of 18 months and the prosecutors’ demand for more than seven years.

The conviction also covers additional charges of assault, threats, drug‑related offences and violations of restraining orders. Høi has the right to appeal the decision. The verdict comes amid ongoing public scrutiny of the royal family, with Mette‑Marit herself currently listed for a lung transplant due to advanced pulmonary fibrosis.
