Norwegian Crown Princess' children attend World Cup in USA after mother's transplant

Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway underwent a lung transplant, after which her children Prince Sverre Magnus (20) and Princess Ingrid Alexandra (22) traveled to the United States to represent the Norwegian royal family at the FIFA World Cup. The siblings attended Norway's match against Senegal at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on 22 June and visited a football school in Brooklyn the following day.

While the children were in the U.S., Crown Prince Haakon remained in Norway, joining his father King Harald for a cabinet meeting at the Royal Palace on 23 June. Norwegian media reported that Haakon stayed by his wife's side in the hospital after the operation, even sleeping in her room for a short period.
