Norwegian Film Festival hits record attendance in Haugesund

The Norwegian Film Festival in Haugesund and Stavanger has reached a new milestone, attracting nearly 40,000 attendees, including students and industry professionals. This year's event saw a record 1,333 accredited professionals, signaling the festival's growing importance as a central hub for the Norwegian and Nordic film industries.

The festival featured 128 unique film titles, eight industry seminars, and several Norwegian premieres. Additionally, the New Nordic Film Market hosted over 330 international participants from more than 30 countries, with France serving as the featured focus country.

Coinciding with the festival, researchers Jon Larsen and Jan Braly Kihle discovered five micro-meteorites—actual space dust—on the roof of the Edda Kino cinema in Haugesund. The discovery was made during a visit related to the documentary ‘We Are Stardust’. These tiny particles, which can be billions of years old, were identified among ordinary roof dust.
