Norwegian Football Stars Draw Club Bids as World Cup 2026 Approaches

Norway qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, sparking enthusiasm around a squad featuring Premier League striker Erling Haaland of Manchester City and Arsenal midfielder Martin Ødegaard. Their performances have positioned Norway as a promising contender and raised the profile of Norwegian football worldwide.

Sixteen‑year‑old forward Malte Fismen, who plays for Åsane, has become a hot prospect for several European clubs, including Inter Milan, Como, Brann, Bodø Glimt, Molde and Dutch side Feyenoord. Åsane’s sporting director Odd Krister Follesdal said, "C'è molto interesse su di lui, ma non voglio sbilanciarmi su club specifici," and noted that a transfer could involve a fee of about €1 million plus a future sell‑on clause. Norway’s coach Kjetil Knutsen added, “Temos o talento e a determinação para fazer história.”
