Norwegian Foreign Minister visits Pakistan for first time in a decade
Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide has arrived in Pakistan for a two-day official visit, marking the first trip by a Norwegian foreign minister to the country in a decade. The visit, which takes place from August 13 to 14, was conducted at the invitation of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
During the visit, Eide and Dar are scheduled to hold delegation-level talks to review the full spectrum of bilateral relations. Key areas of discussion include expanding cooperation in trade, investment, climate change, renewable energy, education, and people-to-people contacts. The officials are also expected to exchange views on significant regional and international developments.
This diplomatic engagement follows recent high-level communications between the two nations, including telephone conversations between Dar and Eide earlier this year and a visit to Islamabad by Norway’s State Secretary Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik in May.
