Norwegian goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland close to joining RB Leipzig after World Cup

Ørjan Nyland, the 35‑year‑old Norwegian goalkeeper, is reported to be on the verge of signing with German club RB Leipzig. After his contract with Sevilla expired, Nyland attracted interest thanks to strong performances at the World Cup, where he made key saves in knockout matches against Ivory Coast and Brazil before a mistake in the quarter‑final against England.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano says Leipzig view Nyland as the preferred replacement for veteran keeper Péter Gulácsi, who is set to move to Villarreal. Leipzig have not confirmed the deal, and Nyland’s representatives have not commented. A move would give Nyland regular top‑level play ahead of Norway’s crucial Euro‑qualifying campaign.
