Norwegian media examines influencer industry and disability representation

A new investigative documentary series from TV 2, titled ‘Bak glansbildene’, examines the rapid growth of the influencer industry in Norway. Journalist Line Haus investigates the contrast between the polished social media personas of top influencers and the reality of their multi-million NOK commercial empires, including brands like Ivorie Studio founded by Isabel Raad. The series questions whether current regulations and state oversight are sufficient to manage these professional commercial actors.

Separately, the media program ‘Team Pølsa’ has sparked discussions regarding the intersection of human rights and entertainment. The show follows youth with disabilities as they participate in physical challenges, such as skiing and biathlon. While the program has gained popularity for increasing visibility, legal experts and organizations have raised questions at Arendalsuka about whether portraying human rights as entertainment contributes to genuine social participation or merely provides superficial visibility.
