Norwegian princess Mette-Marit's son sentenced to four years for rapes

Oslo district court convicted Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette‑Marit of Norway, of two rapes and other violent offenses, imposing a four‑year prison term.

The verdict covered 38 counts spanning 2018‑2024, including assault, threats and a prior drug‑trafficking investigation; the defence has announced an appeal. The case has intensified scrutiny of the royal family, which is also dealing with the princess’s serious health problems.
