Norwegian prosecutors seek prison time for 17-year-old in Kuben school stabbing

Norwegian prosecutors are seeking to convert a 17-year-old's previous youth sentences into prison time following an attempted murder at Kuben videregående skole. The suspect is accused of stabbing a 16-year-old student on September 15.

Police prosecutor Anders Mørland stated that the prosecution believes the individual should serve the remainder of his youth sentences in prison, noting that no other suitable alternatives exist due to the commission of new crimes. The suspect has previously received two youth sentences, one lasting one year and another for 120 days, involving offenses with knives and machetes. The case is scheduled to go to court on October 8.
