Norwegian reports third-quarter profit of 2.52 billion NOK

Norwegian Air Shuttle reported a third-quarter pre-tax profit of 2.52 billion NOK, exceeding market expectations of 2.15 billion NOK. Operating revenues for the period reached 12.74 billion NOK, up from 12.25 billion NOK in the same quarter last year.

CEO Geir Karlsen noted that despite macroeconomic uncertainty, booking trends remain encouraging with significantly higher ticket sales compared to the previous year. However, the airline has reduced its planned capacity for the first quarter of 2027 by over five percent due to rising fuel prices and the cancellation of winter flights to Dubai.

While the company guides for a total capacity growth of approximately five percent for the full year 2027, it noted pressure on ticket prices for the winter season. A stronger Norwegian krone has also contributed to lower revenue per passenger kilometer compared to last year.
