Norwegian runners Nordås and Svela end partnership with coach Ingebrigtsen

Middle‑distance athletes Narve Gilje Nordås (27) and Per Svela (34) have terminated their long‑standing collaboration with veteran coach Gjert Ingebrigtsen, who has stepped away from coaching. Nordås said he wants Svela to take on a coaching role, but Svela has instead accepted a consultant position to support Nordås during the season.

Svela, who competed in the 5,000 m at the Norwegian Championships in Trondheim without medalling, indicated that his own running career is winding down and may be his last national‑level track appearance. He plans to help Nordås and is also looking ahead to a future outside athletics, mentioning plans to become a farmer after retirement.
