Norwegian skiers to miss Mosetertoppen national team camp

Several prominent members of the Norwegian women's national cross-country skiing team will miss the upcoming training camp at Mosetertoppen.

Kristine Stavås Skistad has decided not to participate following consultations with team leadership. Her absence is attributed to a difficult period involving intense media attention. Additionally, veteran skier Astrid Øyre Slind will miss the camp due to illness.

The camp also highlights ongoing tensions regarding athlete autonomy. Karoline Grøtting and Karoline Simpson-Larsen, who have been part of the national team since May, have largely operated independently of the squad. Despite being required to attend the Mosetertoppen camp as part of their commitment, both athletes have continued to follow the training regimens of their private team, Team Anlegg Øst Entreprenør, after being denied requests for formal exemption from the national team structure.
