Norwegian Sundal disqualified at Wisła Summer Grand Prix, Kubacki advances to top ten

The inaugural Summer Grand Prix in Wisła saw Norwegian ski jumper Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal disqualified after his second jump. Sundal had posted 122 m and 130 m, placing him sixth, but officials ruled a problem with his safety‑belt strap as a violation, cancelling his result.

The disqualification moved Polish jumper Dawid Kubacki from 11th to 10th place, bringing him into the top ten for the first time in the competition. Kubacki praised his recent training and noted the challenging hot and rainy conditions, saying the heavy, water‑soaked suit added weight during flight.

Japan’s Naoki Nakamura won the event with jumps of 129 m and 135 m, followed by Marco Wörgoetter and Gregor Deschwanden on the podium. The competition was marked by unusually warm weather, which affected athletes’ performance and equipment.
