Johannes Kongsnes Natland sentenced to 20 years for UK murder plot

Johannes Kongsnes Natland, a 19-year-old Norwegian national, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by a UK court for conspiracy to murder. Natland was recruited through an online game by the Foxtrot Network, a Swedish organized crime group with alleged links to the Iranian government.

Natland traveled from Norway to the United Kingdom with the intent to carry out a contract killing for a promised payment of 25,000 euros. He was arrested at a hotel in Huddersfield, northern England, after arriving via Manchester airport. Police seized a semi-automatic pistol, a revolver, and ammunition during the arrest.

The intended target of the assassination remains unknown. While Natland admitted to possessing the weapons, he claimed he did not intend to follow through with the plan. However, the judge noted that he had numerous opportunities to withdraw but instead pursued his role as an enforcer.

The Foxtrot Network has been sanctioned by both the UK and US governments due to its alleged involvement in violence against Jewish and Israeli targets in Europe on behalf of the Iranian regime. Other individuals, including a 17-year-old known as 'Generalen,' have also faced legal consequences in Norway for their roles in the conspiracy.
