Norwegian teens spend up to six hours daily on screens as Christian group warns of cultural impact

Recent data shows that Norwegians average 5 hours and 21 minutes of screen time each day, with young people aged 13‑15 spending around six hours and those 16‑24 exceeding seven hours daily. The increase in digital consumption is raising concerns among cultural and religious organisations.

Christian outreach group HeltFri, which reaches about 10,000 children and youth each year through teaching, conversations and resources, argues that pervasive influences from pornographic content, social media and popular culture distort young people's understanding of love, the body and identity. An elderly woman who attended a recent talk praised the need for "voices that speak truth and goodness" about vulnerable topics, underscoring the group's call for a narrative rooted in the belief that individuals are created in God's image with inherent value.
