NOS introduces new studio and expanded weather programming
The Dutch broadcaster NOS has launched a completely redesigned studio to modernize its journalistic presentation and enhance brand recognition. The new facility, which replaces a set used for ten years, will host several major programs, including the 18:00 and 20:00 NOS Journaal, NOS Jeugdjournaal, Nieuwsuur, and a new dedicated weather segment.
Starting Monday, the new three-minute program, NOS Weer, will follow the 20:00 news broadcast. This segment aims to provide more in-depth explanations of weather trends, long-term forecasts, and regional variations. The new studio supports advanced technological capabilities, such as augmented and extended reality.
In addition to the physical studio overhaul, the NOS is updating the visual identity of its website, app, and social media platforms. Editor-in-chief Giselle van Cann stated that these changes are intended to make NOS content immediately recognizable in a fragmented media landscape increasingly driven by algorithms, helping viewers distinguish professional journalism from unreliable information.
