Nose Electric Railway announces retirement of 1757 train set

Nose Electric Railway has announced the retirement of its 1757 train set, a vehicle that has been in service for over 60 years since its debut in 1960. To commemorate its service, the company is launching the ‘1757 Final Formation’ project.

As part of the farewell, the train will feature special commemorative headmarks and interior commemorative plates. The company is also releasing a variety of limited-edition merchandise, including commemorative tickets, magnets, and sound keychains that record the unique compressor sounds of the 1700 series.

Merchandise will be available at several events throughout October 2026, including the Railway Festival in Odaiba, Tokyo, and the Hankyu Railway Festival at the Shojaku Plant. An online shop will also launch sales on October 30, 2026.
