The Nosferatu spider (Zoropsis spinimana) is increasingly being found in German homes, garages, and balconies. Experts suggest this expansion is partly due to climate change, making the species a ‘winner’ of changing environmental conditions.

While the presence of these spiders can cause stress for residents, experts emphasize they are largely harmless to humans. They typically only bite if they feel attacked or provoked. A bite is generally described as less painful than a wasp sting, often resulting in tingling or numbness that subsides within a few hours.
