NOT A HOTEL secures 165 billion yen from Toyota Invention Partners and SBI

On August 6, Japanese hospitality and crypto‑asset firm NOT A HOTEL announced a series D financing round totaling 165 billion yen (about $1 billion). The round included a primary equity raise of 100 billion yen and a secondary share purchase of 65 billion yen from existing shareholders.

Investors were Toyota Invention Partners (the strategic investment arm of Toyota Motor Corp.), SBI Holdings and its affiliate SBI Investment, venture capital firm Sequoia, and TT Lion Partners of the J‑GL Group. The capital will be used to accelerate the joint‑ownership mobility service “NOT A GARAGE,” which offers on‑demand access to premium cars, jets, helicopters and super‑yachts, as well as to expand the company’s NFT‑based hospitality platform and its proprietary cryptocurrency NOT A HOTEL COIN (NAC). Earlier, the firm completed a 20 billion‑yen IEO for NAC on GMO Coin, marking one of Japan’s largest initial exchange offerings.

The funding also supports broader business development, including partnerships for loan products with SBI New Bank and the addition of luxury‑experience assets from the J‑GL Group.
