Nothing and MUJI release new wireless earbud models
New wireless earbud options are entering the consumer market with distinct focuses on high-end features and budget-friendly utility.
Nothing has released the Ear (3a), a device featuring a signature transparent design. Key technical upgrades include a 12mm dynamic driver supporting LDAC codec for high-resolution audio and active noise cancellation. A notable functional addition is the “audio snapshot” feature, which allows users to record and transcribe audio by pinching the earbuds, a tool aimed at professionals for capturing meetings or calls.
In contrast, MUJI has introduced an affordable wireless earbud option priced at 2,990 yen. Rather than focusing on heavy bass or advanced noise cancellation, these earbuds prioritize a “natural sound” suitable for background listening and podcasts. A key practical advantage is their sustainable design, which allows users to purchase individual replacement earbuds for 990 yen if one side is lost.
