Nothing announces Nothing OS 5.0 and Android 17 rollout schedule

Nothing has announced the rollout schedule for Nothing OS 5.0, its custom interface based on Android 17. The stable release is expected to begin in mid-October, starting with the flagship Nothing Phone (3).

Following the flagship, the Nothing Phone (4a) series and Pro versions of the 4a and 3a lines are scheduled for early November. The Nothing Phone (2a) and (2a) Plus will receive the update in mid-November, while the (3a) Lite is slated for late December. The rollout will conclude in mid-January 2027 with the Nothing Phone (4b) and CMF Phone 2 Pro.

In addition to the major OS 5.0 release, developers have confirmed that work has already begun on Nothing OS 5.1, which will include features such as the ability to remap the Essential Key. Long-term development for Nothing OS 6.0 is also underway, with the company planning to gather user feedback to prioritize features for next year's major update.
