Nothing announces Nothing OS 5.0 based on Android 17

Nothing is preparing a major update to its operating system, Nothing OS 5.0, which will be based on Android 17. The update focuses on a significant interface refresh and expanded artificial intelligence capabilities.

Key changes include a redesigned visual identity featuring the Geist typeface to improve readability, updated icons, and new animations. The system will introduce improved transparency effects in core applications like the Camera and Gallery, along with more dynamic status bar elements. Additionally, widgets and icons will gain the ability to automatically match the color scheme of the user's wallpaper. The update also aims to separate notifications from quick settings and introduce features such as Essential Space.
